Looking at your table entries #1 -5: #1, 3, 4, 5 -- great! #2: gives too large an answer when I try it. How could you fix it if there is a problem (or convince me that this works?)
ReplyDeleteHi Susan. I've updated the post with my second attempt but I still got the same answer. Please let me know what method you used so I can see where I may have gone wrong. In my second attempt, I multiplied using the FOIL method just to keep everything in fractions of 60 or 3600. That is, 2x21 = 42; 2x36/60 = 72/60; 5/60x21 = 105/60; 5/60x36/60 = 180/3600, and then I added those totals together to get 45.
